Fox & Fern Events is a Michigan-based wedding planner who specializes in Northern Michigan. With the natural surroundings and the beautiful Great Lakes as inspiration, they create organic and bespoke weddings. They came to me for a website update, and I wanted to try new layouts that felt unexpected to elevate their brand and online presence.
The challenge was showcasing their work in a way that felt immersive. I wanted visitors to notice all the details of the day, the work Fox & Fern creates, and the beautiful settings where these weddings take place. It needed to feel like you were experiencing the wedding, not just looking at photos from it.
Solo Project

I created individual galleries arranged in a tiled mosaic. This way, visitors could take in the wedding as a whole experience rather than one image at a time. You see multiple moments at once, which creates a fuller picture of what Fox & Fern delivers.
Throughout the site, layouts are layered with half-opaque images creating texture and visual interest. I wanted to incorporate a lot of the color from their brand, so we didn't use any black. We used the blues and greens mostly from the palette, creating a calm and nature-inspired site that reflected the Northern Michigan landscape.
I developed the site on Showit, focusing on creating unexpected layouts that would make the site feel truly custom and different from typical wedding planner websites.

The resulting site is clean, unique, and feels truly custom. It evokes the beauty Meaghan brings to every wedding she and her team create. The immersive gallery layouts let visitors experience the full scope of her work, and the nature-inspired color palette reinforces her connection to Northern Michigan's stunning settings.
She's continued to grow in her industry, and the website positions her work exactly where it belongs: as organic, thoughtful, and deeply connected to the natural beauty that inspires every celebration.
